Play North was approached by the excellent Multiply agency with an interesting brief to showcase Glen Scotia's story as a Cambeltown malt whisky.

The brief was to animate and sound design some beautifully crafted designs by Creative Director Graeme Clark.

The initial issue was that the client wanted a 'drawn-on' sketch type animation, but the designs were not vector. There were essentially a Photoshop file with one image in it. So after some testing the solution was based around a workflow using the plugin Autofill.

The film is a historical timeline of the story of Glen Scotia, so naturally we used a line with 'stops' to highlight important dates in their history. Play North then did the sound design for this one, including all manners of crashing waves, crowd ambiences and more to lift the story into life. Thanks to all who made it happen!
