In celebration of Pride month, the National Galleries of Scotland commissioned a three part documentary series, Queer Scotland.

Queer art lives in our history, our bodies, and even our fears. In this compelling three-part film series, these films delve into the rich and radical world of queer artistic expression — past and present.

Play North was brought in to design and animate, some animations using original artworks and other sections based on original designs. The overall aesthetic was sketchbook-inspired, stop-motion, collage; especially inspired by the work of artists such as Hannah Hoch, Rene Magritte, Henri Matisse and Terry Gilliam.
